Modification of Molybdenum Oxide М<sub>о</sub>О<sub>3</sub> Surface by Mechanochemical Treatment

Abstract

It was shown that mechanochemical treatment of МоО3 in various media permits to change the crystalline modification of oxide and relative content of the crystallographic planes on its surface. An increase of surface area and reduction of the particle sizes as a result of treatment was determined. The samples obtained demonstrate high selectivity on acetaldehyde or ethylene in reaction of С2Н5ОН oxidation which depends on the treatment conditions and surface characteristics.
